Why do I write? Well, there is a list of reasons. I’ll start by saying that writing is my number one creative outlet. I’m not skilled in visual art, such as drawing and painting, and I have little talent in performing arts, such as acting and singing (but I’m good at public speaking). Writing allows me to express my thoughts, share knowledge, and create fiction.
I actually had little interest in writing until high school, when I wrote my first piece of fan fiction about Star Wars. It is laughably amateur writing compared to where I am now, but hey, everyone starts somewhere. In my sophomore year, my English teacher assigned us to write a short story based on a randomly selected time period. I got World War II, and ended up writing eleven pages of text, more than triple the maximum allowed three pages!
I launched this blog to further my knowledge of writing, to share my knowledge and experience, and to turn it into a business venture. I also am writing a series of science fiction novels which I will publish as eBooks, audiobooks, and later as traditional books. I have graduated from writing fan fiction (which I still enjoy) to writing original fiction, which I truly love.
